Clan Tour and Review

Clan by Realm Lovejoy

Clans are Unity.
No variation. No deviation.
On Clades, to be a Clan is to be an exact copy. A perfect society cloning themselves to survive, even as the zombielike Frags threaten to overrun them on an unforgiving planet.
Clan 1672 (privately known as Twain) was never supposed to survive the Incubation Tank. But he did. Illegally. He is different from the other Clans.
A secret that could destroy him.

My Review / Thoughts

Clades...A place where The Clan are clones, every one is the same and every one is suppose to do the same thing.  No laughter, no feelings.  Being a Clan is everything.  Trying to stay safe from the frag virus is essential.

Twain a "mutant" wasn't suppose to survive the incubation process but his sponsor Twigg kept him illegally.

Twain's sponsor obviously loved him and looked out for him from the beginning even though all Twain did was push the limits of the society.

For Clan being "Clan" is all they have ever known and some don't want to challenge it.  Thankfully there are a few "mutants" among them that make the life of the Clan society bearable.

The thought of living in a society like that is absolutely terrifying for me.  The book told such a great story about how no matter what situation you are put in, every person is an individual and we can make our own choices and be our own person.  I love how Twain figures this out, and finds some unlikely friends in the process.

The ending is not what I expected, and that makes me happy.  I love it when an ending surprises me.

I enjoyed reading this book, and the idea was fascinating and terrifying all at the same time.

Clan kept me interested from the very beginning until the very last moment.

The ONLY complaint I have about this book, is that the f-bomb is dropped too much.  That is a personal issue, but something you should be aware of.

Source:  I was given this book as a tour host for part of this tour in return for an honest review.  I was not compensated in anyway for this review and these are my own PERSONAL thoughts on the book.

  1. Thanks for the warning about the bad words, for some reason it really bothers me that that word is used so much in YA books, not all teenagers and young people talk that way nor want to see it every chapter.

    1. Thanks...I am always worried I might offend, but that is not my intent. I just would appreciate it if people warned me about those things so I want to do the same here!
