PLUMB CRAZY BY MOLLY BLAISDELL - BOOK TOUR

18716726

Plumb Crazy
Release Date: 06/10/14

Summary from Goodreads:

Small town country girl Elva Presley Hicks is about to attend her five-year class reunion with her best friends, Shay and Margarett.

The discovery of an old fanfic manuscript stirs up memories of her summer job as a plumber’s helper in Houston the summer before senior year. She earned a lot of money that year, but was lonely as heck.

It's not like there weren't any suitors back then. Elva could have chosen between Chase, the obese pig farmer, and Wyatt, the plumber with wandering hands. But Elva yearned for something more, and found it that fateful summer, with electrician, Mitch McCall.

It was magical. Mitch wasn't turned off by Elva's name or fan fiction writing, and Elva didn't lose interest in Mitch after he cut off his nose at work.

Trials and triumphs followed including a friendship implosion, world-wide fanfic humiliation, and goat salvation. It would go down as the most memorable summer of high school.

But as these things sometimes do, the summer romance fizzled and Elva moved on to life after high school. And while she's ready to reminisce, she is unnerved when she runs into Mitch at the reunion. Can they give it another go after so much time has passed, or are they too different now to even try?

5 Movie Faves, Old School!

I am a movie fanatic. I adore my Katniss, all things Marvel (expect for Daredevil), Joss Whedon, Alfonso CuarĂ³n, Guillermo del Toro, Richard Linklater, Hayao Miyazaki, and Chris Nolan. That said, here are my top five old school faves.

Galaxy Quest – I love this movie. I always will. It respects fandom in a way that I deeply appreciate. Because of it, when I see a good deal, I say, "By Graphtar's hammer, what a savings."

The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai Across the 8th Dimension – This all-star cast gem (Peter Weir, Ellen Barkin, Jeff Goldblum, Christopher Lloyd) is awesomeness. This was the first exclusive movie I ever saw at a Con. I still wonder what the watermelon was for….

She's All That – Yes, I am a Freddie Prinze Jr. fan. I loved this movie. It was a magical teen romance. You know, the hottest guy in school will reform the ugly girl (only because she wears glasses.) Does that ever get old? Freddie's performance bit with that hacky sack stays with me.

The Wrath of Khan – I love this movie. It was like Star Trek rising from the dead. I mean the first movie just didn't catch the spirit of Star Trek. It was too into the special effects and didn't get that we really just wanted the old gang back not Decker and that bald gal. Yeah, we wanted Khan shouting "..from hell's heart I stab at thee!"

Star Wars – Just keeping it real folks. I've seen Star Wars over 50 times. I'm a Luke gal. I stood in line all night to see the movies. I even watched the Wookie Christmas special and thought it was fantastic. May the force be with you.
