DESCRIPTION:

Identical twins. Identical DNA. Identical suspects. It's Pretty Little Liars meets Revenge in this edge-of-your-seat thriller with a shocking twist.

When they were little, Lexi and her identical twin, Ava, made up a third sister, Alicia. If something broke? Alicia did it. Cookies got eaten? Alicia's guilty. Alicia was always to blame for everything. The game is all grown up now that the girls are seniors. They use Alicia as their cover to go out with boys who are hot but not exactly dating material. Boys they'd never, ever be with in real life.

Now one of the guys Alicia went out with has turned up dead, and Lexi wants to stop the game for good. As coincidences start piling up, Ava insists that if they follow the rules for being Alicia, everything will be fine. But when another boy is killed, the DNA evidence and surveillance photos point to only one suspect: Alicia. The girl who doesn't exist. As she runs from the cops, Lexi has to find the truth before another boy is murdered. Because either Ava is a killer…or Alicia is real.

MY REVIEW / THOUGHTS:

Lexi and Ava are twins.  They have a devoted father who loves them fiercely.  They have Cecilia, who wears many hats...nanny, cook, maid.  She has been with the twins almost their whole life.

Lexi and Ava are identical twins who sometimes like to play tricks on the boys they are dating.  Instead of playing each other, they made up the "third" twin named Alicia.  Alicia, is much more out going than Lexi or Ava, and is much more adventurous.  Alicia, is also a lot of trouble.

What started out as fun for Lexi and Ava, eventually turned out to be very bad....and it was all Alicia's fault.  Even if she didn't really exist.

This was a fun story to read.  I love stories about twins.  There are not many that I have read, but the ones I have read always turn out quite interesting.  Ava, and Lexi are great characters.  They are very different in personalities, but each ones has something unique about them.

Alicia, was mischievous.  I guess it was Lexi and Ava's way of letting some of their rebellion out.  She makes for a very interesting character.

There are a lot of great side characters that you come to love in this book as well.  The author did a great job of bringing every character into the book.  I love the voice she gives all her characters.  Zane is probably my favorite ;).

The world Omololu built was great.  It grabbed my attention from the very beginning which I loved.  She has a way of making every day life seem much more exciting than it is in the "real" world.  I love it when I can escape in a book and feel like I am sitting on the sidelines watching, or even participating in it.  She brought my imagination to life with all the twits and turns.

If you like mystery, I think you will really enjoy this book.  I hope you give it a chance.  If you do I would love to hear what you think.

Source:  I bought this book for myself.  I was not compensated in any way for this book.  These are my own PERSONAL thoughts on the book.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR:

pic and bio taken from Goodreads

I write as C.J., but you can call me Cynthia. My YA novel DIRTY LITTLE SECRETS came out in early 2010. My next book TRANSCENDENCE came out in June of 2012, followed by the sequel INTUITION in June of 2013. My newest book is a YA thriller called THE THIRD TWIN and will be out in February 2015 followed by another standalone thriller RECOVERY in early 2016.

You might notice that I only give 4 or 5 star reviews. That isn't because I love everything, it's because I only review things I really love. As a writer, I know all that goes into making a book, and while a story might not strike a chord with me, who am I to say it won't with someone else? I hate tomatoes, but lots of people like them, and it's the same with a book. So, if I rate something here, it's means that I'd let you borrow my copy, but I really do want you to give it back so that I can read it again.

  2. This sounds like fun. The idea of twins always scares me..I've read too many darker books where the dominant twin takes advantage of the weaker one. Eep.
