AM I THE ONLY ONE THAT DOES THIS? WARNING - MIGHT BE ENTERING MY NERD WORLD :)

I was reading a book the other day and realized while reading a certain part I was doing the same thing the character was doing.  For example:  "He was holding his breath trying not to kiss her"...Then I realized I was holding my breath.

Next I kept reading and there were comments like, "he raised his eyebrow".  Then I realized I was raising my eye brows.  Really?

Am I the only one that does this?  I have tried  to pay more attention to myself while reading.  Every time I find myself doing exactly what the character is doing.  Emotion wise, or facial expression wise.  When I realize it, I always look around to see if someone is watching and observing my "super nerd" moments.

Hey, nerds are fabulous.  Just saying :).  I just wanted to see if I am the only one that does this, or if I have other fellow readers that find themselves doing silly things while reading.

    1. So do I! I just didn't want to drop all my weird habits at once ;). Sometimes I get so mad at the characters I have to set the book down and remind myself I am only reading...hehehe

  2. LOL I do this as well! Especially during a really tense or emotionally charged scene!

  3. I guess I am odd one out, I don't do that while reading. I am just boring. I don't yell or anything, everyone once in awhile I might laugh or snort but that's about it.

    1. I just laugh because I use to give my daughter such a hard time when she did it, and now I am doing it myself...hehehe

  4. I don't necessarily do that - or notice that I'm doing it - but what I do do is make some serious facial expressions while reading. Now that I work in a school, I can't tell how many comments my students or colleagues have made about my expressive reading face.

    1. I do it without noticing either, but when I do, I think to myself "am I the only one who does this"...hehehe! My kids make from of me all the time.

  5. Totally get what you're saying. When we get into a book, it just seems cool to connect with the character. I've been known to laugh out loud in public places a lot while reading something funny. Great post and Happy Sunday to you! Hugs...www.intheknowwithro.blogspot.com

  8. I read this in my email right after you posted it and meant to come comment and never got to it, but I am now. You totally cracked me up! I do some things like that, but generally I remain fairly straight-faced concentrating on my book. Some of that is due to the fact that I have kids and my husband around me all the time when I read. Very fun post!!
