My Review / Thoughts:
How to write a review on a 51 page book....hmmm...I don't know.  I loved it though.  LOVED it.  I had to go download the first book in the series as soon as I finished.  I must know what happens.

I need to find out what Leena does.  Her father the King is the devil.  The D.E.V.I.L.  I cannot even tell you how much I do not like him.

Leena and her true love are separated and it's heartbreaking.  There has to be more to that story.

I enjoyed this novella, if you cannot tell.  There was quite a bit packed into this little 51 page book.  It was so very sad.  I think of how Kings use to rule, and it breaks my heart.  Why does everything have to be done with such cruelty?  Well, what I love is that Leena is not okay with the way things are.  She wants to fight back.  She wants things to be better.

The people in the kingdom are marked with tattoos depending on their "station" in life.  Leena being a princess is ordained with beautiful ones.  Then there are those who are "lowly" and only have simple tattoos.  Then there are the "slaves" that get their tattoos forcibly removed by the kings men by cutting their skin away and leaving them horribly scarred.  Like I said there is a lot that goes on in this little novella.

I cannot wait to read The Shadow Soul (A Dance of Dragons #1)

Source:  I received this novella as part of a tour.  I was not compensated in any way for this review.  These are my own PERSONAL thoughts on the book.

My Rating:
4.5 out of 5 hearts :)
