My Review / Thoughts:

I don't think I have read any books lately on time travel, so I was excited to get this book to review.

Butterman Travels is a family owned time travels business that happens to be under audit when Bianca is about to take her first "solo" guide trip.  She is looking forward to being a full time guide and waiting to take her induction trip, when Tristen walks into their lives.

The whole idea of time travel is fascinating to me.  The idea of being able to pay for and do it like a vacation is even more fascinating to me.  Tristen is a superstar musician who is trying to find his place in the world after taking some wrong turns in his life.  He thinks that the time travel will solve all his problems and help him in his future.

While the story evolves we find out there may be more to Tristen and Bianca meeting than meets the eye.  It is such an interesting and exciting read.  I couldn't put the book down.   I am excited to see what the next adventure brings in this series, and to see how things all tie together.

I know I have said this before, and it probably bothers some people that  I keep saying it, but I really do not like it when an author feels the need to drop the f-bomb all the time.  Having said that I really LIKED this book, but because of the language I didn't LOVE this book.

  1. You know I have to agree, maybe because I have never been comfortable with that word as a whole but I do think it is very unnecessary in literature. There are so many other great adjectives that can be use to convey the same message.

  2. Thanks for your review Paij! So glad you enjoyed it. You know I actually did an entire post on the "F-bomb" usage not to long ago. It was a real struggle for me, cuz I do not curse at all. But every time I tried using another way to say something, I realized I was censoring that character. These characters cursed, and I wanted to stay true to who they were instead of inflicting my own beliefs/practices on them. If that makes any sense at all. Hope so! But I totally get what you're saying too, and really sorry if it offended you.

Thanks SO much for featuring me here today! :)

  3. I HATE the f-word. But I have found that I'm okay with it in some books. So I'm guessing that when I feel it appropriate and realistic I can overlook it. It's been long enough since I read this book I don't really even remember it being used, but I know in other books I sometimes dislike it and sometimes am okay with it. Also, I think in YA books I don't like it because I feel it's encouraging the usage. But this is NA and for a more adult audience so maybe that's why I didn't notice it so much? Hard to say.
But I'm glad you enjoyed this one too. Thank you so much for hosting a tour stop and sharing your thoughts!

  4. Well, I'm the same way with swearing, so it's all good. No need to apologize. We all have our thoughts and opinions, which are what reviews are for. Great review, by the way! I hadn't heard of this one before and now I have. :)
